Sunil Bharti Mittal is the Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, one of India’s leading conglomerates with diversified interests in telecom, insurance, real estate, agri and food, besides other ventures. Bharti has joint ventures with several global leaders: Singtel, SoftBank, AXA, Del Monte amongst others.
Bharti Airtel, the group’s flagship company, is amongst the world’s largest telecommunications companies, offering mobile, fixed broadband and digital TV solutions to over 350 million customers across India, South Asia and Africa.
Sunil has been the pioneer of the mobile revolution in India. At a time when mobile telecom was considered inaccessible for the masses, Bharti Airtel revolutionized the business model to offer affordable voice and data services. Starting from operations in one Indian city in 1994, to presence across 18 countries today, Bharti Airtel has transformed the quality of lives of millions of people globally, providing connectivity and digital empowerment. The company continues to focus on driving data as the ensuing growth frontier, and is leading the rollout of next generation data networks across India and Africa.
Sunil is a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honors, awarded to individuals for demonstrating distinguished services of high order. He has also been awarded Harvard Business School’s Alumni Achievement Honor – the utmost honor accorded by the institute to its alumni. He is the recipient of GSMA’s prestigious Chairman award, besides being decorated with numerous industry honors. Sunil has been conferred Honorary Doctorates by several leading universities in India and UK.
Sunil serves on many international bodies and think-tanks- he is the Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Chair of the World Economic Forums (WEF) Telecommunications Steering Committee, Member: International Business Council-WEF, GSMA Board, Telecom Board of International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Commissioner of the Broadband Commission, International Advisory Panel of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Prime Minister of Singapore’s Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council. He is a Trustee of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and on the Board of Qatar Foundation Endowment.
Sunil is closely associated with spearheading the Indian industry’s global trade, collaboration and policy – he has served on the Prime Minister of India’s Council on Trade & Industry. He is also a member of the India-US, India-UK and India-Japan CEO Forums. He is Co-Chair of the India-Africa Business Council and India-Sri Lanka CEO Forum. He was the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the premier industry body in India in 2007-08.
Deeply associated with the cause of education, Sunil is on Harvard University’s Global Advisory Council, Board of Dean’s Advisors at HBS and Governing Board of the Indian School of Business.
Sunil believes that a responsible corporate has a duty to give back to the community in which it operates. This belief has resulted in Bharti Foundation, which operates 254 schools as well as remedial centers to impart holistic education to over 1,00,000 under-privileged children in rural India. Sunil was ranked among the Top 25 Philanthropists in the World in 2009 by the Barron’s Magazine. He is also a Member of the Board of Trustees of Qatar’s Education Above All Foundation.
Mats Granryd is Director General of the GSMA and a Member of its Board. In this role, he leads the GSMA in supporting its global membership through a range of industry programmes, advocacy initiatives and industry-convening events.
Mats is a strong proponent of sustainability and led the mobile industry in becoming the first sector to broadly commit to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2016. He is now spearheading initiatives to amplify and accelerate the mobile industry’s impact on all 17 of the SDGs, across both developed and developing markets.
Mats serves on the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, which is focused on leveraging ICT and broadband-based technologies for sustainable development. Within the Commission, he chairs the Working Group on Digital Gender Divide to address the digital gender divide and foster the equal inclusion of women and girls in broadband access and use. Mats is also a Commissioner on the Business & Sustainable Development Commission, working with CEOs across many industries to make a powerful business case for achieving a sustainable, inclusive economy.
Mats brings to the GSMA a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in the highly dynamic mobile industry. Prior to joining the GSMA in 2016, Mats was President and CEO of Tele2, one of Europe’s fastest-growing telecom operators with more than 16 million customers across nine countries.
Previously, he spent 15 years in a variety of roles at Ericsson, most recently as Head of Northern Europe and Central Asia. While at Ericsson, he also led the North West Europe, India, CDMA and North Africa units, as well as the global customer accounts for Vodafone and Bharti.

Yu Hu, Doctor of Signal and Information Processing from USTC, professor level senior engineer, expert with the State Council special allowance, the Executive President of iFLYTEK, part-time professor of USTC, and doctoral supervisor, Chief expert of 863 key program of humanoid intelligence. Dr Hu is also the executive director of National Engineering Lab for Speech and Language Information Processing.
Since1997, Dr Hu has participated in several national projects, natural science fund, major Anhui Provincial, Ministerial projects and got great achievements. He obtained two Second Class Prizes of The State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, two major Technological Invention Award in Information Industry.
Aamir Hafeez Ibrahim is the Head of Emerging Markets at VEON leading the Algeria, Bangladesh, and Pakistan markets and a member of VEON’s Group Executive Committee. In addition to this role, Aamir is also the Chief Executive Officer of Jazz, Pakistan’s leading telecom operator with over 50 million subscribers. Prior to his position has CEO, Aamir was Jazz’s Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer.
Aamir has over two decades of international experience across multiple industries and continents. Before Jazz, Aamir was the Senior Vice President for the Telenor Group, where he led distribution initiatives across Asia. Aamir has also held senior leadership positions at Telenor Pakistan, Ford Motor Company, Jaguar and Land Rover. He brings with him a wealth of experience specifically in strategic marketing, sales and distribution, analytics, government and regulatory management, business planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, and public relations.
Aamir is a British Pakistani, with an undergraduate degree in Accounting from The University of Texas and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland. In 2012, Aamir received an Advanced Management Program diploma from Harvard Business School. He has lived and worked across multiple cultures and countries including Thailand, Pakistan, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, and the United States.
Forrest Li is Sea’s founder and has served as its Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer since its inception in 2009.
Sea’s mission is to better the lives of the consumers and small businesses of Greater Southeast Asia with technology. It operates three platforms across Digital Entertainment, E-Commerce, and Digital Financial Services, known as Garena, Shopee, and AirPay, respectively. In October 2017, Sea successfully listed its stock on the NYSE. Its IPO was the largest ever US IPO and internet IPO by a Southeast Asian company.
Forrest previously held positions in multinational corporations such as Viacom Media Networks, Corning Inc. and Motorola. Forrest holds an M.B.A. degree from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
Dr. Li Xu is co-founder and CEO of SenseTime, a leading Chinese AI company and one of the “unicorn” start-ups in China. Under his leadership, Dr. Xu has led SenseTime to achieve a number of breakthroughs in artificial intelligence research and development. For example, at ImageNet 2015, SenseTime was the first Chinese company to win the top award. At ImageNet 2016, his team won 3 individual championships.
Commercially, SenseTime has formed strategic partnerships with major companies including Qualcomm, NVIDIA, HONDA, Hainan Airlines, China UnionPay and China Mobile. In addition, SenseTime has a broad footprint in vertical industries such as financial services, urban security, smart home, robot, autonomous driving, augmented reality and so on. To date, SenseTime has signed up more than 400 enterprise customers.
Prior to joining SenseTime, Dr. Xu worked at Lenovo Corporate Research & Development. Previously, he was visiting researcher at Motorola China R&D Institute, Omron Research Institute, and Microsoft Research.
Dr. Xu obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He holds a doctor’s degree in computer science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. With his doctoral research focusing on computer vision and computer imaging, Dr. Xu is well regarded in the field. He has published more than 50 papers at top international conferences and in journals in the field of computer vision. Dr. Xu has won the Best Paper award at the international conference NPAR 2012 and the Best Reviewer award at the international conference ACCV (2012) ICCV (2015). Among others, his three algorithms were included into the visual open-source platform OpenCV, of which L0 Smoothing topped the paper citations in five years (2011-2015) for Transaction on Graphics (TOG), an international journal on graphics.
Syed Ali Naseer joined Jazz as Chief Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Officer in April 2016. Previously he was working with British American Tobacco (BAT), where he was most recently based in Hong Kong heading the Corporate & Regulatory Affairs function for Asia Pacific, including Pakistan. In his time at BAT, he has dealt extensively with issues of public policy, regulatory & stakeholder management, external and internal communications, and advocacy on fiscal issues.
He brings with him a wealth of experience, spanning over two decades in the blue chip industry. Ali has also served as a Deputy Commissioner for the Government of Pakistan from 1994 – 98.
David Lynn is President & CEO of Viacom International Media Networks, giving him management oversight of all of Viacom’s media networks and related businesses outside the U.S.
Prior to assuming this role in January 2017, Lynn was President of VIMN UK, Northern and Eastern Europe from 2014, having been Managing Director since March 2007. In this role he was responsible for the largest of Viacom’s geographic divisions outside the U.S., encompassing its operations in 33 European countries.
Lynn led the acquisition of Channel 5 Broadcasting in 2014 and its successful integration into Viacom, subsequently leading Channel 5 to the highest operating profit in its 20-year history.
Previously, he was also responsible for Viacom’s international distribution strategy, covering pay TV, video-on-demand and mobile, and has helped oversee strong growth in Viacom’s revenues from OTT, and next generation platforms, in partnership with MVPDs and mobile carriers around the world.
From 2004, Lynn served as SVP, Managing Director, for Nickelodeon UK.
Prior to this, Lynn worked in senior management for Paramount Comedy Channel UK from 1999 onwards.
