Session Description
5G’s ability to deliver faster wireless services to more devices than ever before is completely revolutionising the way we live and work. Whether building a smart city, self-driving car or advanced augmented reality, the relationship between network intelligence and user behaviour has never been more crucial than with 5G.
Global progress has been hindered by the pandemic yet, China leads the early adoption of 5G with more than 160,000 5G base stations covering 50 cities. There is more to do to achieve scale and the time to be bold is now. 5G Network Summit will examine the killer use cases driving change and the key protagonists of networks 5G evolution - small cells, the network edge and cloud.
Small Cells
11:45 - 13:00 (GMT+8)
This session will not be livestreamed.
To address the rising & diverse demand of connectivity, more and more small cells will be deployed to improve capacity and coverage in urban and rural areas, indoors and outdoors. As an effective solution to provide wireless service within localised areas, small cell is the key to a successful 5G rollout. Also, smart cities, industrial digitalization, IoT use cases have given rise to a vast market for small cells. Small cell, the indispensable part to enable network high performance, will usher in a new "blue ocean" in 5G era.
Join in this session together with operators, enterprises, small cells vendors & third-party technology developers around the globe, to share best practice, to flag industrial barriers & discover solutions to lower/remove them, and to explore partnership with different stakeholders to innovate the business model.
Future Networks
14:00 - 15:15 (GMT+8)
Shaping the next generation of mobile, 5G represents a new era of technology in which connectivity will become fluid and flexible. With developments in edge computing, Open RAN, cloud and network slicing delivering higher speeds and capacity, lower latency and greater reliability; every industry will be transformed as 5G networks adapt and tailor precisely to the needs and applications of the user.
Paving the way for new use cases in areas such as robotics, automation, augmented and virtual reality, we are in an exciting period of network transformation and this session will examine the latest stage of network evolution and how its technology is driving a new generation of innovation.

Smart Cities
16:15 - 17:30 (GMT+8)
Smart public transportation, video surveillance, air quality control or drones; whatever the use case, smart cities of the future cities need a fast, responsive and stable mobile network capable of handling a vast amount of data. In short, they need 5G.
Momentum in smart city development has seen innovation grow exponentially as mobile operators, vendors, start-ups and governments partner to make services seamless, sustainable and inclusive. Bringing together visionaries within the space, this session will examine what use cases city service providers are prioritising and with 5G now available, what technology will shape tomorrow’s modern city.
