Ken Deng received the B.E. degree in automatic control and the M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2005 and 2007, respectively, and the M.S. degree in mathematics and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, Urbana, IL, USA, in 2010 and 2012, respectively.
He is currently Senior Technical Expert with the Geely Automobile Research Institute, Ningbo, Zhejiang, China. He was Senior Staff System Engineer with the Continental, Auburn Hills, MI, USA. His research interests include autonomous driving, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G communication, vehicle to everything (V2X), and mobile edge computing (MEC). He has authored over 80 publications, including 1 book, 36 conference/journal papers, and 45 international patent applications/grants in the areas of autonomous vehicles, control systems, machine learning, and decision-making.
