Speaker Bio
Yu Su currently serves as the Vice President of the Chengdu Industry Research Institute at China Mobile. He is the Co-Chair of the GSMA Drone Working Group, a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a Fellow of the China Institute of Communications. Dr. Su received his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University and has published over 20 papers in SCI and EI-indexed journals as the first author.
As the Chief Architect of China Mobile’s 5G cellular-connected drone R&D initiative, Dr. Su led the development of the nation’s first integrated 5G-based cloud-network-terminal system for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This includes the creation of "Hubble I," China’s first dedicated 5G onboard communication terminal for UAVs; "China Mobile Link Cloud," the country’s first 5G-based cloud management and operation platform for drones; and a 5G network covering designated UAV airspaces. These products have already been deployed across various industries in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Greece.
