GSMA Convenes Global Innovators at WIC Wuzhen, Starting Countdown to MWC27 Shanghai
Joint 6G and AI demonstrations by Chinese and international partners set the stage for MWC27 Shanghai, 23-25 June 2027
4 November 2026, London: At WIC Wuzhen, the GSMA presented 22 demonstrations focused on 6G, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, showcasing innovations from 22 mobile operators, technology companies and research institutions across six countries.
The GSMA’s John Hoffman, Chairman and Director, GSMA Ltd., and Sihan Bo Chen, Head of Greater China, GSMA, welcomed Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, to its stand following his attendance at the WIC opening ceremony.
The GSMA exhibition included a dedicated 6G Zone, with showcases focused on experimental platforms, integrated space-air-ground-sea network testbeds, AI-enabled network testing and remote operation of industrial machinery, alongside solutions for connected healthcare, eSIM security and smart manufacturing.
Speaking at the event's Opening Ceremony, John Hoffman, Chairman and Director of GSMA Ltd. said: “Today, mobile networks cover 97% of the world’s population, connecting nearly 6 billion people. But, we are no longer merely connecting people and devices. We are weaving a new fabric of connected intelligence - where AI, robotics, and 6G converge to create possibilities that were science fiction just five years ago. Now we stand on the threshold of the Internet of Agents - where billions of AI entities will negotiate, transact, and collaborate on our behalf. It is something we must build together, openly, and for everyone.”
