AI Leaders Roundtable: Setting the foundations of a Mobile AI Era

The GSMA would like to invite you to speak at the AI Leaders Roundtable at Mobile World Congress, Shanghai 2026.

Overview: Mobile networks and Artificial Intelligence are converging into a new Mobile AI Era, in which ubiquitous mobile connectivity becomes the foundation for AI's widespread adoption and democratisation.

Closing the gap between AI in applications and AI inside the network is not the work of operators alone. It requires the wider AI ecosystem — model developers, AI technology vendors, hyperscalers, infrastructure and software vendors, research institutions and standards bodies — working with operators on a single, shared pathway. The GSMA AI Leaders Roundtable convenes that ecosystem to align on the pathway and the practical solutions already in flight.

The Pathway: From Telco-Grade AI to AI-Native Networks

Two reinforcing initiatives sit on this pathway. Open Telco AI, launched in Barcelona on 2 March 2026 with AT&T and AMD as founding supporters, delivers the open foundations of Telco-Grade AI — benchmarks, open models, data, compute and community — that make telecom AI trustworthy, interoperable and operator-ready.

The GSMA Mobile AI Project then applies Telco-Grade AI across the full arc of network evolution — from today's 5G and 5G Standalone (5G-SA) networks, through 5G-Advanced (5G-A), to AI-Native architectures on the path to 6G — together with the consumer, home and business services they enable. Open Telco AI is the on-ramp; the Mobile AI Project is the full programme of work that follows.
