GSMA MWC26 Shanghai Announces Formula E Showcase and Global Speaker Line-Up

London, 1 June 2026 – MWC26 Shanghai, Asia's largest and most influential connectivity event, is putting Asia’s advanced technology market in pole position after announcing a live Formula E showcase, spotlighting electric racing and real-time connectivity at this year’s edition. New speakers taking to the MWC main stage for the 2026 edition have also been revealed, including AgiBot’s Co-founder and CTO, Zhihui Peng.

Don’t miss a chance to experience the thrill of Formula E racing – this year, MWC Shanghai will host Formula E live experiences brought to SNIEC’s Hall N4 by Circuit X in the Auto Smart Mobility Zone. CircuitX is a GSMA Foundry initiative that unites leading technology partners to accelerate mobile technology adoption in motorsport and elevate fan experiences. 

Attendees will get the chance to try their hand at one of the 10 Formula E simulators with the potential to win Formula E tickets and signed driver caps, as well as getting an up-close look at a Formula E car on the eve of the 2026 Shanghai E-Prix. The Formula E Gen3 Evo car will be fitted with a 5G modem and antenna with live onboard camera footage streaming to showcase how 5G connectivity performs at the cutting edge of professional motorsport. Alongside this, attendees will also get an exclusive look at behind-the-scenes footage shot at the 2026 Sanya E-Prix, taking place just before MWC26 Shanghai.

Against the backdrop of global football fever this summer, the Humanoid Robot Football Penalties Challenge brings teams from around the world together to compete in a penalty-based robotics competition across three days, demonstrating the real-time AI and connectivity powering the next generation of humanoid machines. As well as football, humanoid robots will also demonstrate their artistry with dance and music instrument performances; entry submissions close on 31May 2026.
