Shingo Watanabe is the General Manager of the Standard Strategy Department at KDDI Corporation, where he leads and manages the company's industrial standardization activities. His responsibilities include driving initiatives such as GSMA Open Gateway and CAMARA, ensuring that KDDI's standards and their deployment align with industry trends and promote seamless interoperability. In addition, he leads KDDI's standardization efforts within the company in areas including 3GPP, ITU, and O-RAN ALLIANCE, facilitating the integration of global standards into KDDI's strategic planning and operations.
Prior to his current role, he engaged in wireless systems research and development at KDDI Research, Inc., contributing to the advancement of radio communication technologies.
